Look Your Best With The Right Hair Style

August 19th, 2008

All of us have been in the position where our hair style no longer suits us, or it has just become tired and boring and we urn for a change. The idea of making a change only to find out after that it was the wrong choice is often scarier than staying stuck in our rut.

Choosing the right hair style can seem difficult however if you get it right it can do wonders for your overall appearance, including take years of your appearance. In order to determine which look is best for you, you really need to look at your face and determine which are your best features or at least the ones you want to draw attention to and which ones you wish were not there.

Once you know which features of your face you would like to accentuate and which ones you want to fade into the back ground the rest is much easier. The easiest way to draw attention to a particular feature on your face is to have the weight line of your hair to fall at the same level, meaning that you are going to essentially have your hair point to that feature.

Every hair cut leaves your hair with an area which has hair that is longer than the rest as well as an area which has the greatest volume of hair this is the weight line and where observers eyes will be immediately drawn. Therefore if you have a bit more substance in your chin (ie. double chin) then you do not want the weight line of your hair to fall level with your chin, by the same token if you have a nose that you are not found of then again your do not want a hair style to points to it.

Working with a good hair stylist can assure that you are drawing attention to the facial features you would like to show off and take attention away from the ones you are not happy with. If you have decided that a change is what you need then it is always best to go in ahead of time to talk to your stylist, a professional stylist will be happy to discuss your hair with you ahead of time. If you do not feel good about the information that you have gotten from your stylist then go get a second or third opinion, the point is you need to feel comfortable with who is going to do your hair.

Subtle changes in your hair cut can create amazing effects such as making you look years younger, pounds lighter or give you an instant face lift. Often small changes or variations of a desired hair style can be made to work for you. None of us look exactly the same so their is no need or reason for our hair to look exactly alike either. If you do not want to jump in with both feet then test the water by making changes you are comfortable with. You want to feel excited about your new do when you walk out of a saloon; not wanting to find a hat to hide under.

Hair Care For Your Unique Hair

Different Types Of Hair Require Different Types Of Hair Care

Hair care can at times be frustrating and over whelming, for instance how many people actually have several bottles of product lined in their bathrooms that never seem to get used. We get caught up with the latest product or get impatient because after one shower our hair does not look like the persons from the commercial we saw. It is important to remember that your hair is unique to you and therefore its needs are unique. Secondly we must be patient, hair problems do not occur over night and therefore it will take time to correct a problem and improve hair health.

Again, different hair types require different hair care methods since one method will not fit all hair needs. Many aspects of your hair are determined by genetics, for instance your color and thickness is predetermined at birth. Some of us have very thick hair shafts, some have very thin hair shafts, some of us have a lot of individual hair while other of us has fewer, and some of us are blessed or cursed (depends how you look at it) with curls. We can of course use products to try and change what we are given but the bottom line is we must work with what we have.

The hair shaft that we put all of our focus on is “dead”, however the hair follicle where the hair root is located is alive and well. Hair grows from roots in a person’s scalp, and grows till a certain length and then stops just as naturally as it began, and at some point of time will even begin to shed away. Thus, to ensure that new hair shafts replace the ones that are lost, you need to be aware of the best hair care methods that will make your hair remain healthy and full.

The majority of hair issues are self inflicted; by over processing, improper daily handling and neglect (how often do you get your hair trimmed) we literally run our hair ragged. A few changes to our hair care methods and routine can produce immense results in regards to our hair health.
