Laser Acne Treatment and Removal - The Pros and Cons

September 8th, 2008

Acne happens to be the primary woe of many people. Previously a successful treatment such as antibiotic treatment is no longer as effective owing to resistant bacteria. Latest trend seems to be laser acne removal. This treatment is catching up with the people and it has shown some great results too. Lasers are beams of light, which are highly concentrated. Lasers are so effective that they can cut into metal also. These lasers are focused on the part of the body for treating acne and related problems.

Dual work

Laser acne treatment and removal has two effects on the skin and acne. The lasers kill the bacteria that are responsible for acne outbreaks thus putting an end to the tenderness, pain and pus associated with the acne. The lasers also make the sebaceous glands shrink. A shrinked sebaceous gland will secrete less sebum and will not a cause a blockage in the hair follicles.

The second effect of laser acne treatment removal is its effect on scars, discoloration and disfigurement due to acne. Beside acne, laser acne removal can permanently remove the scar marks caused by previous acne outbreaks. Laser acne removal helps to stimulate the growth of collagen in the skin. This growth of collagen fills the scars and pits caused by acne outbreaks and smoothens the skin naturally.

Discolorations in the skin caused by acne outbreaks can also he treated with laser acne removal. A few sittings of laser acne removal help to fade the discolored area to make it at par with the surrounding skin. After healing not only the skin discoloration vanishes, people have also noticed that skin has become smooth, healthy and glowing.

Side effects.

A big pro in favor of laser acne removal is that it has very few almost negligible side effects. Also the treatment (one sitting) does not take too long and can be done any day.The temporary side effects, which can be with any treatment are redness and swelling in the lasered area. This is as mentioned above, temporary and will be all right in a little time. Some others may feel a slight burning sensation. This will also improve with time.

Hyper pigmentation is a side effect of laser acne removal and acne scar treatment. This side effect is quite rare and is usually observed in patients with dark skin like those of Latino’s or African – Americans. Skin products, which are used for protection against ultraviolet A and B rays, can be used to treat this problem.

Lastly laser acne removal is a good technology to treat acne. This method is also very useful in containing acne treating scars and shrinking glands and fading discoloration.

Various Acne Scar Treatments and What They Are

September 8th, 2008

As acne heals, the skin around the hair follicle gets hyper pigmented and turns red. This red area slowly darkness initially and then over about 6 months time fades and gets same as the skin color. These types of scars are usually formed during minor acne outbreaks. These scars are preferably treated with Retinol or some hydroxyl acid to aid in fast healing of the skin.

For acne scars that are deep like the ones formed by nodular or cystic acne, the treatment is very different from the above. Here treatment is decided upon the severity of the scar, condition of the skin and dermatologists recommendation. The suggestion of the dermatologist is very crucial in the treatment plan.

Chemical peels:

Chemical peel method involves applying chemical to kind of injure the skin. This will prompt the skin to develop new layer free of scars. Chemical peel is a suitable option for scars that are on the outer layer of the skin. This method is to be repeated a number of times to obtain suitable results. There should be enough time gaps between successive acne scar treatments to allow the skin in healing.

Dermabrasion and laser Resurfacing:

Light or shallow ice pick scars due to acne responds well to dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. Dermabrasion is a procedure in which skin in sanded or removed with an abrasive instrument. This method is used when there is no acne or acne infection on the face. There are two types of dermabrasion, deep and superficial. Deep method removes the epidermis and reaches the dermis. This method also takes much longer to heal, as the skin has to generate a whole new top layer.

Laser resurfacing is another kind of acne treatment used for bigger scars. In laser resurfacing, a high beam of light with CO2 is used to burn off the top layer of skin. This layer is usually the layer which is most affected by the scars. Removing the top layer makes the body grow a new top layer, which is free from scars. This method though effective requires extreme care during the regeneration of top layer to avoid infection.

Surgical methods

Some scars are embedded deep into the skin. It is not possible to remove them via the above-mentioned methods. These scars are the deep ice pick, boxcar or rolling acne scars. There are many surgical treatments to treat these kinds of scars. A few them are discussed here in brief. Punch excision method uses a punch tool to take out the skin from within a deep scar and stitch it up to make the surface of the skin at a same level. Another treatment called subcutaneous incision is used to break fibrous tissue which cause rolling scars. This treatment after it is completed and the skin healed helps a vast improvement in the rippled skin.

Treatment of acne scares is different for different cases. Every treatment has its own positive and negative aspects. These should be weighed properly and discussed with the dermatologist before opting for any one treatment option.

Exposed Acne Treatment Review

September 3rd, 2008

The exposed acne treatment formula was developed by a group of dermatologists,
naturopaths and chemist. This unique acne treatment solution helps to fight
acne through a revolutionary approach. Read on for my exposed acne treatment
review.

Most
acne treatment solutions are severely limited in treating acne. Most
acne skin care products focuses on unclogging blocked pores and reduce serum production.
This only works to reduce the symptoms of acne but does not solve the root
problem of acne.

The
exposed acne treatment also helps to unclogged blocked pores and reduce sebum
production but it also helps to eliminate acne causing bacteria and reduce
inflammation. This helps to to prevent any more acne outbreaks.

Acne Foruncular Natural Treatment

August 26th, 2008

Foruncular is
actually associated with a specific type of acne. The correct word is actually
furuncular derived from the word furuncle. Furuncle is a painful nodule on the
skin caused by staphylococcus bacteria.

 It is a common
medical condition and there are many acne foruncular natural treatment that can
help cure this form of acne. Alternatively, you can take antibiotics for long
term. However, there are many side effects associated with acne antibiotics
such as dizziness, nausea and changes in skin color etc.

 The most
commonly prescribed acne anti-biotics are tetracycline and erythromycin. These
can cause nausea when taken on an empty stomach. That is why I prefer to use natural acne skin care products which do not cause such side effects.
