An Overview On Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast
augmentation is a plastic surgery procedure which can enhance a
woman’s body contour by augmenting the breast’s size and shape. This
surgical procedure may be used to enlarge women’s
breasts who are unhappy with a small breast size, to correct a
reduction in breast volume caused by pregnancy, to even out a
difference in breast size, or to reconstruct the breast after breast
surgery.
The
breast augmentation surgery is typically performed as an outpatient
procedure in every surgical center. General anesthesia is commonly
used. Incisions may be located under the breast, under the arm, or
around the nipple. An implant is then inserted through the incision
and placed either under the breast tissue or under the muscle. The
implants are made of an outer silicone shell that is filled with
either saline or silicone gel. Implants come in a variety of shapes
and sizes, and the outer surface may be either smooth or textured.
